The Khopra Ridge Trek is one of the Annapurna region's hidden secrets, offering breathtaking views and a serene trekking experience. It's an excellent choice for both novice and experienced trekkers. I recently did this trek and would want to offer my exact itinerary as well as some personal highlights to assist you in planning your own adventure.

Day 1: Arrival in Pokhara

Your tour begins in the picturesque city of Pokhara. Spend the day touring the city, prepare for your trip, and taking in the breathtaking views of Phewa Lake. Pokhara is also an excellent spot to unwind and eat delicious meals before venturing into the mountains.

Day 2: Pokhara to Nayapul to Tikhedhunga

Early in the morning, drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. Set out from Nayapul for Tikhedhunga. The trail leads past beautiful villages and lush green woodlands. It's a simple day of trekking, which lets you settle into the rhythm of the expedition.

Day 3: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

Today's walk to Ghorepani is a little more difficult. The trail to Ulleri entails a difficult walk up a number of stone stairs, but it is well worth the effort. As you get closer to Ghorepani, the Annapurna range comes into focus.

Day 4: Sunrise at Poonhill and Trek to Swanta

Wake up early for a short climb to Poonhill (3210m) to see the spectacular sunrise. The panoramic vistas of Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Annapurna I, and other peaks are breathtaking. After taking in the vistas, return to Ghorepani for breakfast before trekking to Swanta. The walk leads you through magnificent rhododendron trees and provides occasional views of the Alps.

Day 5: Swanta to Upper Chistibung

From Swanta, continue your journey to Upper Chistibung. The trail is less crowded, providing a sense of isolation and tranquillity. As you travel through the forested walkways, you'll notice more species and appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Day 6: Upper Chistibung to Khopra Ridge

Today's trek to Khopra Ridge is short but difficult. The views from the crest are breathtaking, providing a panoramic picture of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks. Spend the night in the community lodge, where you may exchange experiences with other trekkers and relax in the peaceful surroundings.

Day 7: Khopra Ridge to Khayer Lake and Back

Begin early for a day walk to Khayer Lake. This beautiful lake bears great spiritual significance for Hindus. The path that leads to the lake is strenuous but rewarding, with breathtaking mountain scenery along the way. After spending some time at the lake, head back to Khopra Ridge for the night.

Day 8: Khopra Ridge to Tatopani

Descend from Khopra Ridge to Tatopani. The trail leads you through beautiful villages and terraced farms. Once you arrive at Tatopani, take a peaceful soak in the natural hot springs. It's the ideal technique to relax your muscles after several days of trekking.

Day 9: Tatopani to Pokhara

You can either trek to Beni and then drive back to Pokhara or take a jeep straight from Tatopani to Pokhara. Once you get in Pokhara, celebrate your successful trek with a nice supper and possibly some live music at one of the lakeside restaurants.
