Mar 2022 The Tamil Nadu State government in India has planned to start the "Tamil Nadu Organic Farming Mission" under the horticulture division to support organic farming at all stages of the production cycle and assist farmers in marketing their output across India with a single certificate. The mission will be conducted under a cluster-based method on 50 hectares, each with two groups in each district. An Integrated Seed Certification Office Complex, which will assist with seed certification, inspection, and testing, will be established in the districts of Villupuram and Tiruppur at the cost of Rs.4 crore to facilitate access to high-quality seeds and provide advisory on seed production and certification of organic crops.
