The largest empire in the history of India-Maurya Empire...

The Mauryan Empire, founded by Chandragupta Maurya in 322 BCE, is the largest empire ever to rule India. With the help of his advisor, the brilliant strategist Chanakya, Chandragupta united much of the subcontinent under his banner. The empire's capital, Pataliputra (modern-day Patna), bustled as a center of administration and culture.
The Mauryans achieved remarkable feats in governance. They established a strong central authority and a well-maintained infrastructure. Emperor Ashoka, Chandragupta's grandson, famously converted to Buddhism after witnessing the horrors of war. Ashoka's reign ushered in an era of peace and cultural exchange, with his edicts promoting dharma (righteousness) carved on pillars across the empire.
Though the Mauryan Empire eventually declined, its legacy remains immense. It is a testament to India's rich political and cultural heritage, leaving behind a vast administrative system and inspiring future empires.
