Celebrating a momentous achievement, Audi Hungaria, a 30-year-old automotive powerhouse, proudly marked the production of its two millionth car. This milestone was commemorated with the creation of a remarkable Karat beige Audi Q3 Sportback, packing a formidable 400 horsepower punch. The vehicle's 2.5-liter TFSI engine, a recipient of the prestigious "International Engine of the Year" award an incredible nine times in a row, was also meticulously crafted at Audi Hungaria.
Audi Hungaria's journey began in 1998 with the series production of Audi TT Coup models, followed closely by Audi TT Roadsters a year later. Initially, the assembly process involved transporting the lacquered bodywork from Ingolstadt to Győr, where the skilled team pieced together the finished cars.
A pivotal moment arrived in 2013 with the inauguration of the new vehicle factory, transforming Audi Hungaria into a comprehensive vehicle production plant. Equipped with a press shop, body shop, paint shop, assembly shop, and meticulous quality assurance processes, it heralded a new era in vehicle manufacturing.
The Audi Q3 model series, which witnessed further expansion with the Audi Q3 Sportback, later welcomed the exhilarating Audi RS Q3 and Audi RS Q3 Sportback variants. Embracing the shift towards e-transformation, Audi Hungaria accomplished a significant milestone by producing the Q3 and Q3 Sportback models equipped with MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) technology in 2019. The production of plug-in hybrid drive train versions of the Q3 and Q3 Sportback further solidified Audi Hungaria's commitment to environmentally conscious solutions in 2020.
Looking ahead, Audi Hungaria's production journey is set to make history once again. In 2024, the production of the CUPRA Terramar will commence, making Audi Hungaria the first production site within the Audi Group to produce models from other esteemed brands alongside Audi.
With its rich legacy of innovation and dedication to cutting-edge technology, Audi Hungaria continues to play a vital role in the automotive landscape, shaping the future of mobility and raising the bar for excellence in vehicle production.
